Planning

• I have ensured through our new County development plan that all future housing developments in rural villages must include public green areas, playground and community facilities for the benefit of the residents.
• Ensured that my votes in the Council Chamber regarding zoning have always been for the common good. I have opposed and voted against attempts of wreckless zoning at Aghadoe, Coolcaslagh and Scart/Caheerdean to name but a few.
• I have constantly put pressure on the K.C.C. planning enforcement Dept to ensure that public lighting, footpaths, road surface and sewerage systems are provided in all housing developments in Kerry as per conditions of planning.
• Continuously defended and fought for the rights of family members to get planning permission to build a home on their own land.
